Fall Foliage Hike Details
Unfortunately, it looks like it’s going to rain (60% chance) but that’s not going to stop us! Here’s the plan:
We can pray that the rain will stay away and enjoy a hike on Mt. Kearsarge, near Warner, New Hampshire. It’s supposed to be an easy hike that even kids can do without a problem.
However, if the rain is a problem, we have a backup plan! The nearby town of Warner has their annual Fall Foliage Festival this weekend with good food and entertainment. Here is their website for more details:
They even have a 5 mile road race as a part of the festival. I know we have some runners in our community so if you’re interested, perhaps the running crowd can drive up earlier for the race, then meet up with everyone else later. Let me know if that’s of interest to you and I’ll come up with a plan for that.
Let’s plan on meeting at Joseph’s house (289 Pearl St. #2, Cambridge, MA) at 9am. I’ll have maps ready then, and we’ll consolidate cars to drive up together. The drive is about 1.5 hours according to MapQuest. We’ll try to get back to the Boston area by dinner time or just after dinner.
What you should bring:
- water-resistant clothing (jacket, pants, etc.)
- comfortable sneakers with good soles
- camera
- water bottle
- sack lunch (if we go hiking, we’ll eat up on the mountain)
- money for gas/parking
