Boston Rescue Mission outreach this Saturday
We’re sending a team to the Boston Rescue Mission this early Saturday morning to volunteer with their outreach program. If you’re interested, send an email to info ‘at’ mosaicbston ‘dot’ org. Details below are from Jenn Bennett, who’s coordinating our efforts:

We need to be at the Rescue Mission at 7:30am, downtown at 39 Kingston Street. We should finish around 11. Wear clothes that you could clean in… if its really cold outside, we’ll take turns talking to/feeding homeless out on the Common and doing some cleaning inside the Rescue Mission house (”the Kingston House”).
More details about this day are below. Also check out www.brm.org. PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO COME!

Saturday Morning Outreach
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” Mathew 9:37,38
The goal of the Outreach Services at the Boston Rescue Mission is to establish relationships with the less fortunate of Boston who are living on the streets. Most people living on the streets are familiar with the pain of people diverting their eyes as they walk by, rather than stopping to help or even acknowledge them. The Outreach team actively seeks to speak with each person and offer them an example of the acceptance they can expect at the Boston Rescue Mission. The Outreach team lets them know that this is a place they can go and start to overcome their struggles - a place of hope, comfort and care.
On Saturday mornings a group typically consisting of staff, volunteers, and some residential clients visits Boston Common. The Team brings food, coffee, fellowship, and information on homeless services to the homeless community of Boston.
