Mosaic is a group of urbanites with a longing to embody Christ-centered community in the midst of the Fenway neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Our hope is that we become a movement of expanding communities that serve Boston and the world as gospel renewal-agents in personal spirituality, relationships, the arts, and urban healing.
Mission is why the church exists.
Love is the context for all mission.
Structure must always submit to Spirit.
Relevance to culture is not optional.
Creativity is the natural result of spirituality.
In July 2009, our founding pastor answered God’s call to relocate to Chicago and serve as an associate pastor in an urban church. As we conduct the search for our next pastor, Osei May has graciously agreed to serve as our interim teacher and is currently teaching from the book of Acts.
The seeds of this new endeavor were planted in 2004 at the Origins conference in Los Angeles, California, hosted by Mosaic Church in LA. It was a confirmation of some of the ideas about community in Boston that had been brewing in many of our heads for years. We spent the next year in prayer and planning, which leads us to where we’re at now. A year later, the Mosaic Boston team of 12 was commissioned by Highrock Covenant Church in Somerville, MA to go forth and be a declaration of God’s love to the city of Boston.
